Import your first class set

A class set is one stack of scripts for a single assessment. Nib brings that stack in, divides it into one script per student and keeps the original page order visible for checking.

1. Choose an import source

Open the assessment and select Import. Use the source that matches the papers in front of you.

1. Scan with the camera

   Photograph pages in order. Nib straightens and prepares them as you move through the stack.

2. Import a PDF from Files

   Choose the scanned file from Files. This is usually the cleanest route when a photocopier or document scanner has produced one combined PDF.

3. Add images from Photos

   Select the paper images in page order. Check the selection carefully before continuing.

2. Review the pages

Before Nib splits the stack, move through the page thumbnails and check:

• the expected total page count;
• upright page orientation;
• readable handwriting and diagrams;
• no duplicated or missing pages;
• a consistent number of pages for each script.

If something is wrong, correct the source now. It is safer than discovering a missing page after scores and comments have been added.

3. Check each script boundary

Nib uses the template page count to propose where one student ends and the next begins. Review the resulting script cards before selecting Done.

Each card should contain one student’s complete paper. If a boundary has landed in the wrong place, follow Fix an incorrect script split.

4. Confirm the set

Complete the import only after the script count agrees with the physical stack or roster. Open the first, middle and final scripts as a quick quality check.
