Turn on iCloud syncing

iCloud sync is optional and off by default. Turn it on when you want supported Nib data to follow the same Apple Account across devices; the app continues saving locally first while changes wait for a connection.

Check the Apple Account

Open iPad Settings and confirm that you are signed in to the Apple Account you intend to use. Check that iCloud Drive is available and that your iCloud storage is not full.

Use the same Apple Account on the other supported device when you expect to see private Nib data there.

Enable syncing in Nib

1. Open Nib settings

   Go to the app settings and find the iCloud sync control.

2. Turn on iCloud sync

   Read the explanation, then enable syncing. Existing local records may take time to prepare and upload.

3. Keep Nib open for the first sync

   Stay connected to a reliable network and let the initial status settle before closing the app or switching devices.

4. Verify on the second device

   Open Nib there and wait for the same assessment to appear. Check one recent score or comment rather than assuming the visible assessment name proves every change has arrived.

Work offline after enabling sync

You can continue the core marking flow without a connection. New edits remain on the current device and synchronise later. Check the sync status before moving to another device, especially after a long offline session.

If syncing is delayed

• Confirm both devices have a working connection.
• Check that they use the intended Apple Account.
• Leave Nib open briefly on the device with the newest changes.
• Check available iCloud storage.
• Avoid editing the same assessment on two devices until the newest changes are visible on both.

Turning sync off later does not automatically remove data already stored in iCloud. Export or delete records deliberately according to your organisation’s retention policy.
